Really Important Things to Think About

We have a wealth of data from seeing thousands of feet. It would a shame if we didn’t share our findings with everyone. In our opinion, getting real live reports from the field instead of relying on the sketchy information Google provides is way more valuable. Any topic we share is one we’ve experienced many times.

Here are a few really important things to make note of…

There may be fungus lurking under your toenail polish-leaving your polish on for several months at a time doesn’t allow you to see what your nails look like. Unfortunately, toenail fungus can occur at any time. Not that polish is bad, but taking it off periodically allows you detect a problem before it gets out of control.

Foot pain that has lasted a year is not magically going to disappear-you bought new shoes or several pair, you’ve taken Advil and you stopped working out, but the foot pain is still there. Oh, if we only had a quarter for every time we’ve heard this. Why oh why do people suffer with pain for so long??

The skin is red just behind the cuticle of the big toenail-this occurs from bacteria getting under the cuticle. It can happen from a pedicure, an injury, or pressure from hiking or exercising. Soaking and antibiotic ointment are good home remedies. The nail can loosen leading to pain. If the redness persists, an antibiotic is needed to eliminate the pain and prevent the infection from going deeper.

Pain on the outside of the ankle can be a torn tendon-there are two tendons that wrap around the outside of the ankle. A tear can happen without much injury. Chronic pain and swelling are a sign one of these tendons is affected.

Warts can spread at any time-sometimes a single wart never multiplies. Some warts spread and become many. There isn’t a way to predict your luck. Addressing this viral condition early improves the odds of a faster resolution and decreases the chances of the virus spreading.
